Tickets to singer-songwriter Taylor Swift’s concerts are hot commodities and fake news stories on social media haven’t changed that.

“Taylor Swift’s manager confirms: ‘Ticket sales are dead after Harris endorsement backlash,” an Oct. 4 Facebook post said.

Swift’s Eras Tour has broken records, generating more than $1 billion in gross ticket sales.

“Original standard tickets for the tour sold out long ago for both international and domestic dates,” Business Insider reported Sept. 4, though “tickets for most dates are available on resale websites.”

Since Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee, on Sept. 10 after Harris’ debate with former President Donald Trump, misinformation about Swift has circulated on social media. Claims have said Swift was forced to cancel her tour “following endorsement backlash” and that concert attendance dropped after the endorsement.
