New York Attorney General Letitia James has brought a civil fraud case accusing T.r.u.m.p and his company of lying about the value of their properties to banks and insurance companies. According to the court, Trump repeatedly inflated his wealth on financial statements to secure better loan terms.

A judge has already ruled that T.r.u.m.p committed fraud, citing clear examples, including exaggerating the size of his Trump Tower penthouse by nearly three times. Initially, the penalty was set at more than 350 million dollars, later rising with interest.

Trump has appealed, and while an appeals court reduced the penalty as excessive, it did not overturn the fraud finding. Trump, his company, and two of his children remain legally liable.
Despite viral social media videos claiming federal marshals are seizing Trump Tower, that is not happening right now. Asset seizure can only occur after all appeals are finished and if Trump fails to pay or post a bond. That process could take months or years.
Trump calls the case a political witch hunt, but legally, the courts have ruled that fraud occurred. The punishment is still being decided, but the verdict on liability is already in.
