John Harbaugh hopes Travis Kelce marrying Taylor Swift pushes him to retire ‘pretty soon’ but ‘No’ here is the main reasons.
John Harbaugh didn’t hold back while he encouraged Travis Kelce to hang up his jersey for good to start a family with Taylor Swift.
The head coach for the Baltimore Ravens explained that he hopes the Chiefs tight end and the 14-time Grammy winner tie the knot “pretty soon” so he has one less threat in the AFC.
“I hope they get married,” Harbaugh said in a recent interview with Us Weekly. “I hope they have a bunch of kids.
Heck, maybe he’ll get ready to retire here pretty soon to pursue that family aspect of his life. I would encourage that.”
Harbaugh, 61, added that he’s “rooting for them,” and described the couple’s whirlwind romance as the “coolest thing ever.”
The Ravens begin the 2024-25 regular season against Kelce and the Chiefs on Sept. 5 in Kansas City.
Swift could very well be in attendance for the AFC Championship rematch — the Chiefs beat the Ravens 17-10 to reach Super Bowl 2024 — as her Eras Tour will be on hiatus at the time.
They went public with their relationship the next month when they were seen holding hands while out together in New York City.
“I couldn’t say I’m a Taylor Swift fan because I don’t know enough of the songs,” said Harbaugh, who’s entering his 17th season as head coach in Baltimore.
“But the songs I’ve heard from my daughter over the years, I like ‘em.
I think they’re excellent. I think she’s so talented. When you watch her perform, oh my god, it’s sick how talented she is.”
Kelce and Swift, both 34, have been at the center of engagement rumors for some time.
In December, Page Six reported that the three-time Super Bowl champ received her father, Scott Swift’s, blessing to propose.
Kelce followed Swift on tour after the Chiefs’ 25-22 overtime Super Bowl win over the 49ers in February.
