Catholic Church and World Evangelical Alliance File Joint Lawsuit Against Donald Trump Over Alleged Attack on Pope Leo XIV
In an unprecedented and shocking move that has sent shockwaves through the Christian world, the Catholic Church and the World Evangelical Alliance have joined forces to file a major lawsuit against President Donald J. Trump. The suit accuses him of being directly involved in or inciting an alleged “attack” on the newly elected Pope Leo XIV.
According to the complaint filed in federal court, the plaintiffs claim that inflammatory statements made by Trump during his aggressive campaign against Iran and global institutions somehow “endangered” the Pope and the Vatican. They are demanding an investigation, public apology, and unspecified damages, calling the alleged rhetoric a “direct threat to religious leadership worldwide.”
The joint legal action marks the first time in modern history that the Catholic Church and major Evangelical bodies have united in a lawsuit against a sitting U.S. President.
Trump’s supporters have immediately slammed the lawsuit as “absurd,” “desperate,” and “a coordinated globalist attack” on the President. Many point out the timing — coming right as Trump ramps up pressure on Iran, the UN, and international powers — calling it a blatant attempt to distract and weaken his leadership.
Trump himself responded swiftly on Truth Social:
“This is a total witch hunt by the radical left and weak globalist churches. I have nothing but respect for Christians and the Pope, but I will NEVER apologize for putting America and Christians FIRST. They’re just mad because I’m winning against evil. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
The lawsuit has already triggered fierce backlash from conservative Christians, with many Evangelical leaders distancing themselves from the World Evangelical Alliance’s decision. Several prominent pastors have publicly called the move “betrayal” and “political theater.”
Critics of the suit argue there is zero evidence linking Trump to any physical or verbal “attack” on Pope Leo XIV, describing the allegations as vague and politically motivated. Supporters of Trump see this as yet another attempt by global institutions to undermine a President who refuses to bow to international pressure.
This extraordinary development comes at a highly volatile time, with Trump’s Operation Epic Fury in full swing, the Strait of Hormuz under blockade, and tensions with Iran at a boiling point.
The big question now: Is this a legitimate grievance or a desperate political weapon aimed at crippling Trump’s momentum?
The Christian world is divided, Washington is in turmoil, and the lawsuit is just getting started.
