Philadelphia Public Schools Will Be Closed On Friday For Eagles Super Bowl Parade
In celebration of the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory, the city has announced that all public schools will be closed on Friday, February 14, 2025. This closure allows students and families to participate in the festivities surrounding the Eagles’ championship parade.
**Parade Details:**
The Eagles’ Super Bowl parade is scheduled to commence at 11 a.m. on Friday, starting at Broad Street and Pattison Avenue in South Philadelphia. The procession will proceed north on Broad Street, passing City Hall and Love Park, ultimately concluding at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The parade route mirrors the path taken during the Eagles’ previous Super Bowl celebration in 2018.
**School District Announcement:**
Superintendent Tony Watlington announced the closure of all Philadelphia public schools to enable families to participate in the festivities. Several suburban school districts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey have also announced closures for the day
**Additional Information:**
In addition to school closures, city courts and municipal government offices will be closed on Friday. The Philadelphia Parking Authority will not enforce meter and time limit regulations, but safety violations will still be enforced. Residents are advised that normal residential trash and recycling collection will be suspended on Friday, with pickups resuming on Saturday.
The city anticipates a turnout of over 1 million fans for the parade, underscoring the significance of this historic event for Philadelphi
